Agent K, a 6-year-old neutered miniature Schnauzer, is a happy adult dog whose owners could no longer care for him. This fun guy will need a housetraining refresher course and obedience training to be his best. Schnauzers are terriers, and their temperaments can be terrier-like: alert barking, chasing small animals, and leash reactivity (all which can be addressed through training). They are smart, trainable, spunky and loyal dogs who thrive on structure and leadership. Schnauzers do need grooming on a regular basis: brushing at home to keep mats away, and regular clipping by a professional to keep that “Schnauzer cut” (which he currently has). The breed is generally good with well-behaved kids, but it is not known if Agent K has ever lived with kids. Children in the home can help with daily care, but should not be expected to take full care of any pet without adult supervision. Please bring all children (and any existing dogs, as his tolerance for other dogs is not known) to meet Agent K. This sporty boy will need daily walks and exercise to be a good pet. He probably would also enjoy snuggling with you on the couch after a good game of fetch. Agent K is up-to-date on his vaccinations and has been microchipped and dewormed. He will be available at 2 p.m. today at the Atlanta Humane Society Howell Mill Campus, 981 Howell Mill Road N.W. Sealed bids will be accepted starting at 11 a.m. if more than one party is interested. Please note that the highest bidder must meet adoption qualifications. Look at all our available pets at www.atlantahumane.org.
