When Kirk Pope and Sarah Presto adopted their dog, Clementine, the people at Animal Friends warned that she was a "climber."
At first, they weren't sure what to make of that. Now they understand.
Clementine was at doggy day care last week when the rat terrier-beagle mix spotted one of her canine friends in an adjacent pen. Rather than beg or bark or wait to be moved, Clementine took matters into her own paws and scaled the side of the fence like a squirrel.
The moment was captured on video by Jen DeSalvo, owner of Pittsburgh Paws Pet Resort in Sewickely, and was viewed on YouTube more than 4,000 times within days of being posted.
"We had never seen anything like this before," Pope said. "Jen was absolutely amazed and immediately sent us the video."
Pope notes that Clemmy didn't escape the daycare facility. The dogs are under constant watch, and she merely moved from pen to pen as she pleased.
