If you have a child with attention-deficit hyperactive disorder, or ADHD, there’s a free webinar to help you learn more about how you can help them with therapy, not medication.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is hosting the webinar, along with the National Council for Behavioral Health. In May, the CDC released a report on ADHD and how to treat it with behavioral therapy. This webinar is a follow-up to that report, providing more information on using behavioral therapy as an alternative or supplement to medication.

The two guest speakers will be Dr. Beverly W. Funderburk, a professor of pediatrics with the University of Oklahoma’s Child Study Center, and Dr. Greta Massetti, an associate director for science with the CDC.

Parents can learn more about how to train in behavioral therapy, their role in treatment, when medication is recommended, and what questions to ask a physician.

The webinar will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 17. Register for free online and learn more about this and other upcoming webinars.
