Next time you’re in Decatur, look up.

An ongoing, outdoor art project #lookupdecatur added some new “signs of solidarity” recently. Spearheaded by artist Larry Holland, the project features the work of local artists on metal signs hanging on streets throughout Decatur.

This week, Holland posted on Instagram that some new artwork was on display, including signs that say things like “Stay Strong ATL.”

Since the artwork is outdoors, it’s an art exhibit that’s safe to check out amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Recently, protesters have gathered in downtown Decatur as part of demonstrations taking place throughout the country to speak out against racism and police brutality. It has also reignited a conversation about the Confederate monument in the Decatur square. Recently, a judge said the monument should be immediately relocated.
