A bodybuilder in Athens, Georgia, didn’t realize he was being secretly recorded by his wife as he belted out a heartfelt rendition of the George Strait song, “Troubadour.”

James Howard is seen in his home gym, singing along with the country tune and even getting down on one knee to serenade his dog.

Eventually, he turns around and realizes he’s being filmed.

Kim Howard posted the video on Facebook, thinking their friends and family would get a big kick out of her husband’s performance.

Instead, the video quickly went viral. Over the past month, the video has generated over 23,000 likes, 28,000 shares and 340 comments.

The country music world has taken notice as well.

According to the Athens Banner-Herald, James has been asked to perform in other states. Leslie Satcher, the songwriter who penned the Strait hit, "Troubadour" sent James a signed CD of her songs. Country singer Tracy Byrd sent James a guitar and asked him to sing one of his songs.

James, who is African-American, is thrilled and humbled by all of the attention he is receiving and hopes he can encourage others to expand their cultural horizons.
