Whether you like them glazed, sprinkled or filled, doughnut lovers are in for a free treat this Friday.

Two of the country’s biggest doughnut chains are offering free treats to customers in honor of National Donut Day.

Dunkin' Donuts will offer customers a free donut of their choice with a beverage purchase. The offer is good all day on June 5, while supplies last.

Not to be outdone, Krispy Kreme is offering customers one free doughnut of any variety, with no purchase necessary. The Krispy Kreme offer is good all day on June 5 at U.S. and Canadian stores, while supplies last.

National Donut Day, also referred to as National Doughnut Day, was started in 1938 by the Salvation Army to commemorate volunteers who brought donuts and other goods to soldiers during World War I.

You can use the hashtag #DonutDay on social media to find more special offers.
