John Legend, the Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter, will speak and perform at the University of Georgia later this month.

Legend, who is also a philanthropist, will talk about his efforts to promote equal access to quality education and his work with Teach for America, which enlists top college graduates to spend at least two years teaching in low-income communities.

The event will be held at 8 p.m. April 17 in the Tate Student Center on the Athens campus.
