Atlanta-based Southern Co.'s nuclear subsidiary has hired a second former Exelon Corp. executive to its management team.

Bradley Adams has been named Southern Nuclear's Fleet Operations Support vice president, the company said Wednesday. He is replacing Mike Stinson, who is retiring, a Southern Nuclear spokeswoman said.

Adams previously was the manager of Exelon's Byron Station nuclear plant. He has more than 27 years of experience in the nuclear industry, holding other jobs at Exelon as well as its subsidiary, ComEd Corp. Chicago-based Exelon operates the largest nuclear generating fleet in the U.S. with 10 plant sites and 17 units.

In June, Southern Nuclear named Stephen Kuczynski, a former Exelon executive, as its chairman, president and chief executive officer.

Southern Nuclear operates Plant Vogtle and Plant Hatch in Georgia as well as Plant Farley in Alabama. Southern is waiting on a license to begin heavy construction  for two additional reactors at Plant Vogtle, near Waynesboro.
