AAA forecasts a total of 1 million Memorial Day weekend travelers in Georgia, with most of them taking to the roads.

A total of 926,610 auto travelers and 76,564 air travelers are expected in Georgia. A total of 34,040 are expected to travel by other modes, including by train or bus.

Nationally, AAA expects a 1.5 percent increase in travel May 22-26, which would make for the busiest Memorial Day holiday travel period since the recession.
