What makes a good leader?
“A good leader is someone who listens, communicates well and provides feedback. It’s also important for a leader to be able to think strategically, make decisions and execute plans.”
What are you most proud of in your career?
“I’m most proud of completing my master’s degree in health care administration and never regretting my decision to become a health care professional.”
Who has inspired or mentored you?
“Many have inspired and mentored me throughout the years. My parents, who taught me by example, ethics and integrity; my high school Latin teacher, who helped me appreciate the arts; my physical therapy instructor, who motivated me to always look for better ways to care for patients and society; [and] the physicians, nurses, therapists and leaders I work with each day.”
What’s your favorite thing to do away from work?
“I like to work out, read, go to the beach, attend sporting events and hang out with my daughters and family.”
Who’s your favorite famous nurse? Why?
“Clara Barton. Not only did she start her career as a nurse at a very young age, but she was the founder of the [American] Red Cross — clearly a compassionate and capable leader.”
What’s your favorite guilty pleasure?
“Ice cream.”
Tell us something that nobody at work knows about you:
“Someday I would like to take flying lessons.”
