A medical-surgical nursing review for practice enhancement and certification will be from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. This two-day course is designed to enhance the knowledge of registered nurses related to disease states, patient assessment and nursing practice. The objective is to prepare nurses to sit for professional certification examination. An application for 13 contact hours has been submitted to the Georgia Nurses Association. Sept. 24-26

The American Nephrology Nurses’ Association (ANNA) will host its national fall meeting at Hilton Atlanta (255 Courtland St. N.E.). The meeting is aimed at nurses practicing in any setting. Topics for the event will include genomics and nursing, critical-thinking skills, professionalism in the workplace and moral courage. There will be an opportunity to earn 12.75 contact hours, 23 CEUs and a pharmacology credit of 345 minutes. The cost is $330 for ANNA members and $405 for nonmembers (if received by Aug. 12), and $355 for members and $430 nonmembers afterward. ANNA’s Atlanta Dogwood chapter, the host chapter for the meeting, will sponsor a music and dance event for all attendees on Sept. 24. Rockdale Medical Center will hold its annual Perinatal Workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The workshop is for medical professionals interested in caring for obstetrical patients and their newborns. “Moving Forward to Positive Outcomes,” the annual educational conference of the Atlanta chapter of the Case Management Society of America, will be at the Georgia International Convention Center (2000 Convention Center Concourse in College Park). The conference hours are noon to 5 p.m. on Oct. 14 and 7 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Oct. 15. The keynote speaker will be CMSA national president Teri Treiger. The cost is $160 for members (nonmembers, $215). Single-day rates for members are $59 (nonmembers, $89) for the first day, and $99 (nonmembers, $129) for the second day. Group rates (five or more attendees registering with one check) are $125 for both days and $89 for the second day only.
