More consumers are looking for bargains and are choosing a more economical store brand over the higher-priced name brand.  But is there a difference between the Helmans and the Walmart brand of mayonnaise, or Heinz ketchup and Target's Market Pantry brand?

Will the 15 to 30 percent difference in price, depending on the product, be enough to overlook any difference in taste or quality?

Consumer advocates did a taste test of of 57 store brands and compared them to the same name brand products.  They found that they were as high in quality as the national-brand but not identical.
