New Horizons: Settling into a new place
I think it's better to get rid of too little before you move and then have to get rid of it later than to get rid of too much and be sorry something is gone. I'm really sorry about some things I got rid of. We had this deli slicer that we didn't use all the time, but we used it whenever all the kids came over and we made a roast. We got rid of it before we moved; now, I'm just sorry I don't have it anymore. We also got rid of all of our lamps, not realizing that the development where we moved wasn't really big on putting overhead lights into the rooms.

Don't stay in your hometown. Move about three or four hours away from your kids. That way, you can see them on holidays, birthdays, and during emergencies, but you're not constantly in their hair.
