Aaron’s Inc., the Atlanta-based rent-to-own chain, plans to add 750 jobs in the U.S. and Canada this year, the company’s chief executive officer announced.
Ronald Allen made the announcement at the company’s recent annual managers meeting in Nashville, and he said the company added 950 new jobs last year.
The jobs in metro Atlanta, about 20 to 30, will mainly be related to information technology in the company’s corporate offices, according to a spokeswoman for the company. Many of the other jobs will be management related at new retail locations.
Allen said Aaron’s plans to open 125 new stores this year. The company has more than 2,075 company-operated and franchised stores in 48 states and Canada.
“We plan to continue new store openings in 2013 across the United States and Canada, which in turn creates jobs,” Allen said in a statement announcing the new hiring plan.
The company specializes in renting and selling consumer electronics, residential and office furniture, household appliances, and accessories.
Last month Aaron’s announced it opened 32 new company-operated and franchised stores in 17 states in the previous three months.
