GHSF Daily asked Georgia head coaches to answer these four questions. We'll report from a different head coach each day.

Marcus Jelks, Lithonia

1. What is the most memorable game you've been a part of as a player or coach?"I was a junior offensive lineman at South Carolina State University and we were playing Wofford College in a very tight 7-6 game in which Wofford had the lead. We ran the last offensive play of the game, in which I was called for holding, and we subsequently lost the game. I learned A LOT of things that game. One thing was that football is the ultimate team sport. If the man next to you isn't right, no one on your team is. The most important of them all was that you must do things the right way ALL of the time. The call was debatable but the lessons learned were not."

2. Which high school coach would you want your son to play for, and why?"I would want my son to play for Ron Gartrell at Stephenson High School. I'm biased because he was my high school head coach, but the life lessons he taught me raised me to be the man I am today. He taught me through words and actions. I know as coaches we often forget, but the kids are ALWAYS watching us and they never forget at this impressionable age."

3. What is your favorite saying/motto?"Every day you either get better or you get worse. You never stay the same. So get better TODAY!!"

4. Which GHSA policy or high school football rule would you most like to see changed?"I feel GHSA moved in the right direction with being able to scrimmage another team during spring ball, but I would like for us to be able to have spring jamborees so that we could get a chance to face different teams and schemes."
