J.B. Arnold, Jefferson County
1. Who is/was the most influential person in your coaching career? "First off, my dad taught me how to work hard in everything I do. As far as coaching is concerned, I have tried to soak up knowledge from every great coach I have either played for or been around. Jimmy Dorsey, Jeff Herron, Bob Sphire, Scott Samsel, Luther Welsh, Larry Campbell, Bruce Miller, and the list goes on."
2. Who is the best Georgia player you ever faced? "I have witnessed a lot of great athletes in my time, but probably the best is Takeo Spikes from Washington County. Just dominating on both sides of the ball. Played with great intensity that he still has today."
3. What is the best team you ever faced as a coach? "No doubt here it would be the 2011 Buford team. I have never seen such a collection of great athletes. At any given snap, they had 10 D-I's line up on defense. Unreal."
4. If you were Gary Phillips, the new head of the GHSA, what would be the first rule that you would try to change? "Gary Phillips has got a job that takes a lot of faith because the decisions that have to be made will be tough. As far as what I would change, it would probably be to make sure that everyone has as even a playing field as you can."
