The state record for the longest winning streak in region play is a matter of definition. Should the streak be based on games that count in the region standings, since those are the ones that really matter, or should it be all games against region opponents, including 10th-game region play-ins and regular-season crossover games between teams in different subregions? Here are the longest streaks using each method.

Games that count in region standings: In this method, McEachern holds the record. It doesn't count McEachern's 1994 loss to Region 5-AAAA rival Alexander. McEachern was 5-0 in its subregion that year. In fact, McEachern was perfect in the region standings for a remarkable 14 seasons in a row - from 1986 to 1999.
