Marvel's "Spider-Man: Homecoming" filmed in Atlanta and is due out July 7.
I visited the set one day when they were at work for interviews with star Tom Holland and director Jon Watts. Per studio embargo policy, I'll tell you what we talked about a little closer to the release date. But for now I can pass along this fun little tidbit: the movie filmed a stone's throw from where another Marvel blockbuster, "Captain America: Civil War," shot a key scene.
Remember the building in "Lagos" that explodes in the opening scene of "Civil War?" That's it on the left. It was right by one of the downtown Atlanta streets where "Spider-Man" filmed last year.

The movie, with Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey, has also filmed at area locations including Grady High School. Like "Ant-Man," "Captain America" and "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" before it, is was headquartered at Pinewood Studios in Fayette County. Happening now at Pinewood: the next two "Avengers" movies, "Avengers: Infinity War," and "Avengers: Whatever Title They Come Up With Next."
