Boston Red Sox fans were supposed to receive commemorative David Ortiz bobbleheads at Tuesday's game, but the team scrapped the plan hours before the first pitch after deeming it racially insensitive.
The figurine was meant to capture Ortiz' likeness during the emotional pregame speech he gave in 2013, as Boston was reeling from terrorist bombings at the Boston Marathon:

But team president Sam Kennedy axed the promotion as soon as he saw the items.
