Hugh Hefner's busy Twitter feed is full of fun photos of parties, concerts and beautiful women, but his last several posts had nothing to do with his Playboy lifestyle.
Instead, the cultural icon took a statesmanlike tone in his final few posts, urging his followers to cast differences aside and offer a unified response to hurricane victims.
"My thoughts are with everyone affected by Hurricanes Harvey & Irma, both the victims and the first responders," he posted. " In times of such great adversity, it is inspiring to know we can put our differences aside and join together to help those in need. To donate, please visit the One America Appeal website."
One America is the campaign supported by former Presidents Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.
"As former Presidents, we wanted to come together to help our fellow citizens in Texas, Florida and the Caribbean as they recover and rebuild," the site explains. " Please give whatever you can. Every cent donated through the One America Appeal will help the victims recover."
