National Dog Day is August 26 and to celebrate LifeLine Animal Project is waiving all dog adoption fees all day.

LifeLine Animal Project, is a nonprofit which hopes to have its county shelters reach no-kill levels by the end of 2016. Summer is when shelters often have their highest intake of dogs with up to 40 animals entering the shelters daily.

Anyone who adopts a dog on August 26 at any LifeLine shelter location, including DeKalb County Animal Services, Fulton County Animal Services or LifeLine’s Dog House, will not have to pay adoption fees.  Adpoted dogs have been spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped – a $250 value. The standard screening criteria still apply to ensure the dogs go to good homes.
