One do the common complaints I hear from readers about Atlanta’s dating scene is the entitled attitudes. There is a population of singles who believe they have the right to be picky because their “value” on the single’s market allows them this luxury. This goes way beyond the cocky or confident types.

I think some people start to believe their own hype and think they are the cream of the crop. They nitpick on minor things and somehow make them deal breakers. I even had one guy tell me he dumped a woman because she could not use chopsticks when they went to get sushi. Seriously! One woman told me she refused a second date because the guy had a pet that wasn’t masculine enough.

Listen, I’m not saying not to have standards. I just think if chopsticks and dog breeds are legitimate reasons not to date someone, you should do some major reevaluation. Also…Get over yourself!

Are you guilty of this kind of dating entitlement? Have you met someone like this?

How can you spot someone who has this kind of behavior? How would you handle a date with them?
