In a perfect world, being in love with someone will mean they are your best friend.  In reality, when someone is your lover that brings a lot of expectations. If you add being your best friend, that could actually strain the relationship even more.  Your partner can’t be your everything and you can’t be everything to your partner.

I have seen the weight of a demanding relationship crush the vitality of a couple.  When one begins to see their partner as work or something that has to be handled.  It’s could be daunting and exhausting.  I believe that makes a couple more susceptible to cheating.

Do you think your partner should also be your best friend and confidante? Is it better when they your lover and your best friend are two separate people?
