Suspect accused of fatal shooting after robbery at Gwinnett apartments

A man was killed at a Gwinnett County apartment complex late Saturday, police said.

Police are searching for a suspect accused of killing a teenager at an apartment complex in Gwinnett County on Saturday night, authorities said Sunday.

Gwinnett police responded just before 10:30 p.m. to the shooting at the Herrington Mill Apartments on Herrington Road near Lawrenceville.

When officers arrived, they found a man dead outside near the parking lot of one of the apartment buildings. He was identified by police as 18-year-old Timothy Henderson, a resident of the complex.

Detectives said they believe the killing was the result of a robbery. During the investigation, officers quickly identified 20-year-old Raheem Whiteside, of Dacula, as the suspected shooter. Police said warrants have been issued for his arrest.

According to authorities, he is facing charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain felonies. His location remains unknown.
