There should be a couple of significant weather shifts Saturday in metro Atlanta.

The first change will be scattered showers moving into the area in the afternoon, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

However, Saturday is “not a washout,” he said.

Later, a warm front should lift, and more rain should fall into Sunday.

Look for a “wet start to your Sunday morning,” Monahan said. “Some of the rain could be heavy.”

The temp was 66 degrees shortly after 5 p.m., above the  forecast high of 63 and Friday’s high of 61.

But get ready for a cooling trend. Sunday’s high is expected to be 59, and the rain chance is at 90 percent.

Monday could see a “few wet snowflakes” in the North Georgia mountains,” Monahan said.

And another reminder: Daylight saving time begins Sunday at 2 a.m. Set your timekeeping devices ahead one hour by then.

The five-day weather forecast for metro Atlanta shows rain and some cooler temps.
