It’s not quite a Super Bowl ring, but the young, dynamic wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has a new claim to fame.
He’s the new Head & Shoulders spokesperson.
Beckham, 22, is taking the reins from former Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu, who is known for his long, flowing hair. Polamalu made several memorable commercials as the Head & Shoulders spokesperson and became known as the “mane man.” Polamalu retired from the NFL this year. He was gracious in congratulating his successor, but did take a shot at Beckham’s youth.
The official handoff was recorded, with Polamalu saying that even though it is difficult for him to give up something to a wide receiver, Beckham is a worthy successor.
Beckham posted on Twitter that he’s proud of his new title.
Displaying a humble side, Beckham told ESPN that he didn't think his hair was as good as Polamalu's hair.
That will be up to the fans to decide.
