Falcons’ Ryan Schraeder on Chiefs’ Justin Houston

The Falcons have faced some stout defensive fronts this season and have fared well.

They did well against Oakland’s Khalil Mack and Bruce Irvin in the second game of the season. Neither had a sack and Mack had four hits.

The Falcons held up against Denver’s Von Miller and his crew. They had two sacks and eight quarterback hits.

Now, the Falcons are set to face Justin Houston, Tamba Hali and Dee Ford if all of the Chief’s rushers are health.

Here’s what right tackle Ryan Schraeder had to say about the matchup:

Q: What must you all do to slow down KC’s pass rush?

A: "I would say the biggest thing is probably the run game and getting that going. Coming off the ball and getting after these guys. The best pass block is a run block. "

Q: How’s Alex Mack help to stabilize the unit?

A: "Alex has been huge for us this year. He's really solidified the inside with communication and with the way he works. The way he gets after people. He's relentless. He's everything you want in a center."

Q: What’s your plan for Justin Houston?

A: "It's going to be a good matchup. He's a really fast guy. He's got good power. He's got multiple moves and he'll kind of keep you on your toes. I have to really study this week to figure out his tendencies, that way we can get after him."
