To many fans, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady leads a picture-perfect life. The three-time Super Bowl MVP is married to supermodel Gisele Bunchden and the couple has two adorable children together.
The couple is often noted for their excellent physiques which have earned them a great deal of money in their respective careers.
But according to their personal chef, that beauty isn’t just genetic, but the result of a super-healthy diet.
In a recent interview, personal chef Allen Campbell revealed what the Brady family eats:
- 80 percent vegetables
- 20 percent lean meats, mainly wild salmon for seafood
- Whole grains like brown rice and quinoa.
- Beans
Here's what Brady and family don't consume:
- Nightshades, such as peppers, mushrooms and eggplant are prohibited, because they're not anti-inflammatory, according to Campbell. Tomatoes are only rarely used.
- White sugar
- White flour
- Caffeine
- Dairy
- Gluten
While Brady’s kids enjoy fruit, Brady only eats bananas if they are in a smoothie, otherwise he avoids fruits.
The family typically eats the same meals. Allen mentioned a couple of favorites, including veggie sushi made with brown rice, carrots, avocados and cucumbers, and a quinoa dish featuring greens, almonds and a cashew sauce.
There were also lentil buckwheat footballs on the menu.
Allen said he was proud of Brady for criticizing sugary cereals and sodas during a radio interview, saying, “Sugar is the death of people.”
Brady and the 12-4 Patriots are once again in the NFL playoffs, where they hope to win back-to-back Super Bowls.
