What to know: Bridges started for Newnan High School since his sophomore year.

Newnan coach Mike McDonald on Bridges' official visit and why he chose Georgia Tech: "I think he went up there and (defensive coordinator Ted) Roof is a great defensive coach and coached some great defenses. … The proximity to home, folks will get to see him play, and staying in state, all that is pretty big for him. It's going to be fun to ride up on a Thursday night to see Georgia Tech play and see him out there play for them."

McDonald on why Bridges enrolled early: "He's did a great job in the classroom for us, so I think that enabled him to go on and (enroll), which I think is a good thing for him. … I think it's time to get adjusted because it's a big adjustment from high school to college and the way they do things. He'll be way more comfortable."

On what Bridges is a good fit for Georgia Tech: "I think he's a great linebacker. Really the unique thing about him is that he fits in with what they do and coach Roof's defense. Just from watching Tech play, (Bridges) just really fits their scheme perfectly. He's the kind of linebacker they like and that they play with."
