Glenn Robinson III hit a corner 3-pointer with .6 seconds left to give the Pacers a 97-96 victory over the Hawks Sunday afternoon at Philips Arena. Paul Millsap missed a heave at the buzzer for the Hawks.
The Hawks used a 22-9 fourth-quarter run, with four 3-pointers, to take 96-90 lead with under two minutes remaining. Tim Hardaway hit two and Thabo Sefolosha and Dennis Schroder each hit one down the stretch. The Hawks had nine 3-poiners in the game.
However, the Pacers ended the game on a 7-0 run to steal the victory.
The Hawks (34-28) lost their second straight and had a three-game win streak against the Pacers snapped. The Hawks played with head coach Mike Budenholzer serving a one-game suspension for bumping an official.
Hardaway led the Hawks with 24 points. Millsap had 23 points and 10 rebounds and Schroder finished with 18 points.
The Pacers (32-30) were led by Paul George scored a game-high 34 points but was held scoreless in the fourth quarter. They finished the game with 15 3-pointers.
The Hawks had 13-point leads in both the first and second quarters. However, the game was tied at 50-50 at intermission after a dreadful second quarter. The Hawks were outscored 31-20 in the period, including a 22-5 Pacers’ run, as they shot 33 percent (7 of 21). Millsap had 14 first-half points for the Hawks. George had 24 first-half points for the Pacers. He was 9 of 12 from the field and the rest of the Pacers were 10 of 22.
The Pacers led by as many as 11 points in the third quarter but took an 81-74 lead into the final quarter.
