5 things to know about Braves’ playoff chances

5 Midseason favorites to win 2019 World Series

Expectations for the Atlanta Braves entering the 2019 season were high enough following last season's 90 wins and division title.

Their first postseason since 2013 ended in disappointment against L.A., but oddsmakers saw enough improvement to predict Atlanta would make a return to the playoffs.

Their odds to win their second title since 1995 were a healthy 12/1 behind the Cards (16/1); Nationals (16/1) and Brewers (12/1).

Offseason moves by division foes, dropped the Braves’ odds to 18/1.

Now that Atlanta has reached 50 wins by their 84th game (faster than any Braves team since the 2003 team reached the mark by its 77th game) there's no National League team east of Los Angeles that's clearly better than the Braves.

With the Braves leading the NL East, Vegas has updated their postseason odds and the Braves are in the thick of it.
