The state agency charged with reviewing the traffic impact of the new Atlanta Braves stadium on the surrounding area issued a final decision Wednesday to approve the project, with a few conditions.

The Georgia Regional Transit Authority asked for improvements for pedestrians, intersections and roads in the vicinity. The $622 million stadium will be located near the intersection of interstates 75 and 285 and fronted by Cobb, Windy Ridge and Circle 75 parkways. It is set to open in 2017.

The pedestrian improvements include a comprehensive network of sidewalks, crossing signals and crosswalks near the ballpark.

An earlier report from GRTA concluded there is not currently “consistent and safe pedestrian access” from areas where off-site parking could be located.

Roadway intersection improvements were recommended along Cobb Parkway at I-285, Circle 75 Parkway and Windy Ridge Parkway; and at the intersection of Cumberland Boulevard and Spring Road.
