GOP’s continued fight against vaccine makes no sense

At some point in the distant future, someone looking back at the AJC’s front page of Nov. 5 will struggle to make any sense of a headline saying, “Deadline set for employees to get shots … GOP vows fight” and just below “Grim milestone: State pandemic toll tops 25,000″. They’ll wonder why a political party in power would fight a life- and illness-saving vaccination against a virus that has killed 5 million people worldwide, three-quarters of a million Americans and more than 25,000 Georgians. It makes no sense now and will make even less sense in the future. History will not look kindly on today’s GOP.

Voter fraud not an issue in latest Republican victories

Has anyone else noticed that after the Democrat’s disastrous night Tuesday in Virginia, New Jersey and elsewhere, there have been no charges of voter fraud or suggested crackdowns to make voting more difficult for rural white people? If Republicans start winning races (legitimately, since there is no real voter fraud), what will candidates like Georgia secretary of state-hopeful Jody Hice run on?

Three ways Republicans are destroying democracy

Slowly but surely, Republicans are destroying democracy. Strike one was Moscow Mitch, the authoritarian leader responsible for blocking anything proposed by Democrats (for decades) to help Americans. Strike two was from the lying king tyrannical totalitarian Trump. Strike three is from the Republican-controlled states that methodically strip us of our rights with their fascism agenda. For you Republicans with your head in the sand, in simple terms: Fascism is a political movement that embraces far-right nationalism and forceful suppression of any opposition all overseen by an authoritarian government, i.e., Jan. 6. Fascists, aka radical right Republicans, oppose liberalism and democracy and believe their agenda takes precedence over any individual rights.
