Former Houston Texans, Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos tight end Owen Daniels had a bold response to President Donald Trump.

After hearing President Trump’s Friday comments, Daniels suggested that every player in the NFL take a knee during the national anthem on Sunday and Monday.

The NFL players are understandably furious with the president for saying that owners should "fire" players for refusing to stand for the national anthem. He doubled down on Saturday afternoon, tweeting out if players want the "privilege" of making a substantial amount of money in professional sports they should be required to stand for the national anthem.

This weekend presents quite an opportunity for the NFL players to make a statement that would be remembered forever.

Brotherhood is always preached in sports. Players are quick to say, "my teammates are my brothers," "I love my teammates like brothers," etc. Dallas Cowboys linebackers Sean Lee and Jaylon Smith both said that they didn't agree with what President Trump said and then went straight to how much they love their teammates, via the Dallas Morning News' Jon Machota.

The Buffalo Bills called an emergency team meeting because they are so upset, and a large number of players have come out against the president’s comments.

The ultimate show of brotherhood for the NFL would be for the entire family to make a strong unified statement that their athletic talents, and the lifetime of work they put in to play professional football, does not mean they should have to shy away from doing what they feel is right.
