Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is among the nominees for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2016, CBS News reports.
Trump reportedly joins several other nominees, including Pope Francis, Edward Snowden, a women’s cycling team from Afghanistan and Nadia Murad, an activist supporting rape victims of ISIS.
Kristian Berg Harpviken of the Peace Research Institute in Oslo, Norway, said Snowden, who leaked U.S. confidential documents and faces charges of espionage, has the best chance of winning the prize, according to Reuters.
Harpviken also told Reuters the person who nominated Trump cited the billionaire businessman’s “vigorous peace through strength ideology.” He did not give the name of Trump’s nominator, but said the person is from the U.S.
