What was intended to be a costume caused panic and chaos in Frankfurt, Germany's red-light district on Saturday
A male stripper was reported as being seen with an assault rifle and a bulletproof vest, according to NBC News.
Officials said police officers were sent to the area where the man was seen; he also had "FBI" on his costume.
A police statement said the man, a 30-year-old from Hungary, was found in a table-dance bar.
He said the weapon and the vest were part of a costume for his stripper act.
The weapon was a plastic, near-identical replica of a G36 assault rifle.
"Prosecutors in Frankfurt now have to evaluate whether the possession of the rifle replica violates German gun laws," Frankfurt police spokesman André Sturmeit said.
The man was allowed to perform after a delay Saturday night.
Mashable reported that police said ins a statement "whether his act was a success, is not known."
The man does not face charges as of yet.
