Sploid reports that the Goliath Birdeater is a furry spider roughly the size of a puppy, with foot-long legs. When moving, the spider's hard claws make a clacking sound.

Etymologist Piotr Naskrecki recently spotted one of these creatures in Guyana and took photos. The spider apparently was camera-shy however, and released a cloud of irritating bristles that left Naskrecki's eyes itchy for days.

Naskrecki also reported that the spider has fangs that could "puncture a mouse's skull."

Photos of the frightening creature are quickly going viral.
