A Florida woman was arrested on Sunday after police said she attempted to steal a bag of Cheetos Puffs by hiding it on her body, then punched the clerk when she was confronted about it.

Melissa Mower, 49, entered an Indian Rocks Beach-area convenience store on Sunday night and attempted to steal a bag of Cheetos Puffs and a six-pack of Bud Light Lime, The Smoking Gun reports. Mower was confronted when leaving the store so she returned the beer, but not the Cheetos.

Police said Mower was witnessed crossing the street with the stolen bag of Cheetos Puffs “stashed under her sundress in her groin area” and the store clerk, Holly Harris, pursued and asked that she return the item. When Harris “demanded that (Mower) return the Cheetos Puffs that were stolen,” police said Mower punched Harris in the left eye and left “swelling and redness in the victim’s eye socket and eye.”

Mower, who is a convicted felon, was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor simple battery and petty theft.
