Firefighters say the horse was trying to protect the tub because it doubles as a feed trough. Somehow the animal got too close and fell in.

Because the horse, named Phantom, landed on her side, she was stuck with her feet jutting out until firefighters arrived.

More popular and trending stories

KTLA reports Phantom was calm, so the tub and horse were leaned until the animal could be pulled free.

Both the Palomino/Appaloosa mix and the tub were fine after the incident.
