It's late at night, dark, when movement is detected just outside the door.

Motion-detection flood lights fill the yard to spot the intruders.

But the lawn trespassers aren't of the treacherous kind, instead two baby foxes, curious about the resident dog's tennis ball.

One Washington D.C. resident happened to spot the little fox kits bouncing around his pup's tennis ball, nudging it with their noses before chasing it down.

By the looks of it, the owner may be buying his canine a new ball.
