There was a little too much excitement in a residential area of Goose Creek, S.C., Thursday morning when a 10-foot alligator was spotted walking across a lawn and toward kids who were walking to their school bus.

Sonya Gilreath told WTVM  she heard someone yelling outside and then heard the sound of a car that had driven up onto her lawn to get between the gator and the schoolchildren.

Meawhile, Gilreath said, her 3-year-old daughter, Lyla, summed it all up:

“That’s a big, giant alligator,” Lyla said.
