Train service has been restored following mechanical issues that caused hours-long delays on MARTA’s red and gold lines Wednesday morning.

Those delays started near Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the transit agency reported at 5:15 a.m.

“We are running full red and gold line service and have been for more than an hour,” MARTA spokesman Erik Burton told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution just after 10:20 a.m. “We apologize for any inconvenience the earlier delays may have caused.”

This is the second consecutive morning that delays have affected the ride for MARTA passengers.

Light smoke Tuesday prompted officials to offload riders at the Buckhead station and put them on another train.
