Thieves stole hundreds of the new iPhoneX off a delivery truck outside of a San Francisco mall, KPIX reported.

According to police, thieves staked out an Apple store at the Stonestown Mall  on Wednesday and waited for a UPS truck, then broke into the vehicle and stole at least 300 of the new phones, KPIX reported..

At a minimum the iPhone X retails for $1,000, so thieves made off with more than $300,000 in merchandise, according to San Francisco police Capt. Rick Yick.

“A witness observed three unidentified suspects wearing hooded sweatshirts exit a white Dodge van,” Yick told KPIX. “It appears the suspects knew what they were looking for.”

The iPhone X has facial recognition technology and an improved camera that can mimic professional quality photos, KPIX reported.
