Q: What’s going to happen to the Georgia Dome when the new stadium is completed?

A: The Georgia Dome will be demolished after the new stadium is built, which is scheduled to be completed in March 2017, the same month that the Georgia Dome would be imploded. Once the debris is removed, the site of the Georgia Dome would be converted to parking for the new stadium, which will be built just south of the Georgia Dome. The Falcons and the Georgia World Congress Center Authority have said the parking lot will be designed to be more aesthetically pleasing than the traditional asphalt parking lots, but haven't released details. The GWCCA will retain redevelopment rights for a limited portion of the site. The new stadium will be built just south of the Georgia Dome, at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. and Northside drives.
Q: The proposed bill to register bicycles brings up a related issue. Are bicyclists exempt from traffic laws, such as obeying stop signs/stop lights, and if not, can they be ticketed?

A: Bicycles are legally classified as vehicles in Georgia, which means "general vehicular traffic law applies to the operation of a bicycle," according to the Governor's Office on Highway Safety. Cyclists can be ticketed for failure to comply with the law. Georgia Code Nos. 40-6-290 through 40-6-299 deal specifically with laws for cyclists. Three Georgia lawmakers said last week they're dropping the bill they proposed to require cyclists to register bikes and ride in state regulated formations.
