Q: The AJC recently reported the shooting of a man who was trying to rob people in line for Nike shoes. Was the alleged robber armed? Also, the article said one patron claimed the store, Wish, had only 22 pairs of the shoes. Is that true?

A: Atlanta Police say Sandy Ezzard pulled a handgun and attempted to rob about 20 people who were in line waiting for Wish, a clothing store on Moreland Avenue, to open on June 22. They were in line to purchase the LeBron X EXT, new $180 LeBron James basketball shoes. Marvin Lorenzo Jones, who was in line, pulled his gun and fired, striking Ezzard several times, according to police reports. Ezzard, who had been arrested many times and convicted twice since 1998, died at the scene. The AJC reported a person standing in line said Wish had 22 pairs of the shoes, but a store employee wouldn't confirm that number when contacted by Q&A on the News.
Q: What is the scheduled completion date for the construction project at Georgia 400 and I-85 North at Sidney Marcus Boulevard?

A: The $21.5 million project that is constructing connector ramps from 400 south to I-85 north and from I-85 south to 400 north is on schedule to be finished by Dec. 31, a DOT spokesperson told Q&A on the News in an email. The project also is affecting several area roads, including Sidney Marcus Boulevard, Buford Highway and Cheshire Bridge Road.
