Q: What became of the East Point detective accused of sexually assaulting the woman at the UBar?

A: East Point Police Det. Tim Tysver is working a modified duty assignment during an internal investigation, Capt. Clifford R. Chandler, who serves as the department's public information officer, told Q&A on the News.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation also is investigating the allegations against Tysver, who was accused by two women of inappropriate sexual behavior outside the UBar in March.
The women, who said they were drunk, told WSB-TV that Tysver approached them outside the Camp Creek Parkway bar while he was working an off-duty security job.
He was wearing his uniform, and after an encounter, forced one of them to drive away, they told the station.
The GBI will forward its findings to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office when its investigation is complete, spokeswoman Sherry Lang told Q&A on the News.
Once the internal review is complete, the unit will forward a recommendation to East Point Chief of Police Tommy Gardner, who will decide if any disciplinary action is appropriate.
Q: The Super Bowl champion New England Patriots recently met with President Barack Obama. Who pays for the entire team to go to Washington?

A: Groups, including athletic teams, must pay for their own expenses or find a group to fund the travel when they visit the president, the White House Press Office told Q&A on the News.
The Patriots met with President Obama on April 23, giving him a jersey and signed helmet.
Obama joked that he’d like the chance to see the Chicago Bears in the Super Bowl before he leaves office.
