Q: What weapon did the Navy Yard shooter take into the building? Some reports said it was an AR-15 while others said a shotgun and others a sawed-off shotgun. Can you shed light on this? If it was a shotgun, was it sawed-off or was it semi-automatic?

A: Aaron Alexis used a seven-shot, pump-action Remington 870 12-gauge shotgun that he bought in a gun store in Lorton, Va. He also bought two boxes of shells (24 total) two days before he killed 12 people at the Washington Navy Yard on Sept. 16. The shotgun's stock and barrel had both been sawed off, the FBI said. Alexis also used a 9 mm handgun he took from security guard Richard "Mike" Ridgell, who was killed during the attack. Alexis was killed by a U.S. Park Police officer, according to the FBI.

This is the 20th anniversary of disABILITY LINK, which is "run by people with disabilities for people with disabilities," Adle said. She added that a line will begin forming at 11:30 a.m. for the blessing of the dogs.
