Q: Why doesn’t Meredith Vieira still host “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?”

A: Vieira said in January she was stepping away from hosting the syndicated version of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" after 11 seasons because she wanted to pursue other opportunities. She filmed episodes of the show through May, and it was announced in July that Vieira would host "The Meredith Vieira Show" on NBC, beginning in September 2014. It will be "a multi-segmented, one-hour daytime show that will blend Meredith's unique point of view, empathy,and sense of humor with insightful storytelling that will make viewers laugh, learn and feel inspired," it states on the NBC website.
Q: Shouldn’t players remove their helmet beanies when the national anthem is played before football games? Plus, what purpose do those beanies serve?

A: It is customary for men to remove their hats during the national anthem. Title 4, also known as the Flag Code, and Title 36 of the U.S. Code address the U.S. flag. Section 301 of Title 36 states: "… men not in uniform (military, law enforcement, etc.) should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold the headdress at the left shoulder; the hand being over the heart" during the national anthem. Helmet beanies, also known as skull caps, are designed to absorb sweat and keep it from dripping into a player's eyes or down his face during games and practices, according to the manufacturers.
