A: The golfers are not compensated for playing in the Ryder Cup because it is an international team competition where they "compete for pride and country," Julius Mason, the senior director for communications and media relations for PGA of America, told Q&A on the News in an email. The U.S. players direct $200,000 each to charity and to programs involved in the growth of the game, he said. Europe rallied on the final day to defeat the U.S. 14½-13½ in this year's Ryder Cup, which was held Sept. 28-30 at Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Ill.
Q: Does Virginia Hepner, the new CEO of the Woodruff Arts Center, hold season tickets to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra?

A: Hepner has season tickets for the Atlanta Symphony, the High Museum of Art and Alliance Theatre at the Woodruff, she told Q&A on the News. Hepner was selected as the CEO on July 1, when she replaced Joe Bankoff, who left to head Georgia Tech's Sam Nunn School of International Affairs. Hepner is a former executive vice president and head of U.S. Corporate Finance for Wachovia Bank and was the interim executive director for the Atlanta Ballet in 2009.
