Q: In light of I-85 reopening, does C.W. Matthews Contracting Co. have plans to award its crew, who worked so hard to complete this task, bonuses from the $3.1 million they will receive?

A: "C.W. Matthews has shared a portion of our profits with our employees for many years. This year will be no exception," president Dan Garcia told Q&A on the News via email.
The company, based in Marietta and founded in 1946, has 1,200 employees.
For the I-85 project, C.W. Matthews crew members worked around the clock to rebuild the bridge—350 feet of highway in each direction—with a $3.1 million incentive for completing the work before the Georgia Department of Transportation’s original June 15 deadline.
“We are proud of the work performed by our employees on this project, but we have another 1,100 employees that work hard each and every day on many other facets of the company and other important projects across the state,” Garcia wrote. “All of our employees will benefit from this great achievement.”
